We have an exciting opportunity for an AutoCAD / Estimator who is looking for a position where they can learn and develop a variety of new skills, within a fast moving, industry leading environment.

 

Britannia Fire & Security Ltd are looking for a driven, highly motivated, and professional designer to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge on BS5839-1, with a strong understanding of the requirements for other systems, such as; Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Disabled Refuge & CCTV. Previous experience with AutoCAD is also a requirement. CAD is a design tool that is used daily within our premises.

 

The successful applicant will join our friendly team in our purpose-built modern offices in Yaxley, Peterborough, providing excellent designs, competitive quotations & good time management for our clients.

 

This role will keep you busy, interacting with varying stakeholders every day, working as an integral part of an Estimating team, where you will be adding value to our successful business.

 

As a member of the Estimating department, your main responsibilities will be speaking to new and existing client’s, extracting information provided by clients and/or potential clients and designing a system that meets their requirements. The role will involve designing various systems on CAD, along with quoting the works for varying companies on a day-to-day basis. As-fitted drawings will also need to be prepared at the end of an installation, other requirements / tasks may be introduced by our Project Managers, these will be project dependant.

The company is BAFE and ISO accredited and provides extensive engineering support to installation projects and back up maintenance support, to a wide scope of organisations and businesses across the UK.

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

•       An understanding of BS5839-1.

•       Provide neat & tidy design drawings / as-fitted drawings when required.

•       Creating of different symbols within CAD if required due to further systems being requested.

•       You will have previous & successful experience(s) with quoting and winning projects.

•       Good time management.

•       The ability to follow sequences, either set out by the employer / client, specifically when uploading drawings to various platforms.

•       Being able to communicate with clients and build relationships.

•       Be used to being target driven and have the ability to work to strict deadlines.

•       An excellent attitude and approach to learning and developing.

 

As this role is within a small team, you will also need high levels of personal motivation and resilience partnered with a personable and approachable personality that benefits the team. Team working is a key requirement of the position.
