Gent's Vigilon Fire Alarm Systems & Panels

Gent’s Vigilon system is the most comprehensive life safety system available on the market today. As a Gent Elite Systems Integrator Britannia can design and install systems for all types of building. The combination of powerful software in the control panel and the intelligent loop powered devices deliver a flexible, easy to use system.
 
Vigilon control panels are available in 4 loop and 6 loop versions. The 4 loop Vigilon has a self contained power supply and battery standby for at least 24 hours and the 6 loop with external batteries will support a system for 72hrs in the event of a mains power failure.
 
Large multi-panel networks accommodating up to 200 devices on each loop provide a versatile solution for protecting large buildings and across multiple sites.

    What are the different types of fire alarms?

    There are several types of fire alarms, but you may not know what they are and why each alarm is best suited for particular fire emergencies. Below we have listed the various alarms available and why they are best suited;

     

    • Ionisation Alarm (for invisible smoke particles)
    • Optical alarm (for detecting the larger smoke particles and suitable to use throughout buildings)
    • Heat alarm (for detecting heat. Heat sensors are therefore ideal for kitchens)
    • Combined alarms or multi-sensors (detect both smoke and heat)
    • Mains alarms (connected to your buildings electrical supply, meaning you won’t need to change batteries)
    • Interconnected alarms (for an additional level of safety by ensuring that if one alarm triggers, every alarm in that building does)

    Do fire alarms signal the fire department?

    In simple, not all fire alarms alert the fire deprtment. Sometimes, fire alarms are single station systems, which means that alarms are connected to a series of detectors, sensors & sprinkler heads, but you still need to call 999 for help.
