5-Star Intruder Alarm Monitoring Company
A bells-only alarm relies on someone nearby caring enough to call. At 3am on an industrial estate, nobody does. Britannia’s intruder alarm monitoring service sends every activation to a 24-hour alarm receiving centre, where trained operators verify it and get the right people moving.
Monitoring matters most to the people called when the alarm goes off: keyholders, site managers and estates teams.
Monitoring alone doesn’t guarantee police attendance. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the NPCC Security Systems Policy (2026) only gives police response to a system that is:
Response is Level 1 (immediate, not guaranteed) or Level 3 (withdrawn, keyholders only). Two false alarms in a rolling 12 months brings a warning letter; a third moves you to Level 3. To restore it, an unconfirmed system needs upgrading to BS 8243 confirmation, and a confirmed one needs the cause fixed and 90 days clear. If reinstatement hasn’t started within six months, the URN is deleted.
Systems without a URN get no police call from the monitoring centre: someone at the scene must report a crime in progress on 101 or 999. Police Scotland applies its own rules. And analogue lines stop working on 31 January 2027, so monitored alarms need IP or mobile signalling.
Already have an alarm? We can survey it and take over its maintenance and monitoring. New site? We’ll design and quote the whole system.

When the alarm system is triggered, a signal is sent to an Alarm Receiving Centre. Trained operators review the alert and take appropriate action, such as contacting keyholders or escalating the response if needed.
A monitored alarm is connected to a remote centre that manages alerts and responses. An unmonitored alarm only sounds locally and relies on someone nearby to respond.
Yes. If an alarm is verified and meets the required criteria, the monitoring centre can contact emergency services as part of the response process.
Yes. Intruder alarm monitoring is suitable for a wide range of premises, including offices, retail spaces, warehouses, and industrial sites, particularly where security is needed outside of working hours.
If an alarm is identified as a false activation, operators can stand down the alert and contact keyholders if required. Verification processes help reduce unnecessary responses.
