We have an exciting opportunity for an estimator who is looking for a position where they can learn and develop a variety of new skills, within a fast moving, industry leading environment.

 

Britannia Fire & Security Ltd are looking for a driven, highly motivated, and professional system estimator/designer to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge on BS5839-1, with a strong understanding of the requirements for other systems, such as; Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Disabled Refuge & CCTV. Previous experience with AutoCAD is also a requirement. CAD is a design tool that is used daily within our premises.

 

The successful applicant will join our friendly team in our purpose-built modern offices in Yaxley, Peterborough, providing design and competitive quotations and will have good time management skills, and will be client focused.

 

This role will keep you busy, due to our continued expansion, you will be interacting with varying stakeholders every day, working as an integral part of an estimating team, where you will be adding value to our successful business.

 

As a member of the estimating department, your main responsibilities will be speaking to new and existing client’s, extracting information provided by clients and/or potential clients and estimating/designing a system that meets their specific requirements.

Britannia Fire and Security Ltd is an independent and privately owned family company, established over 25 years ago in Yaxley, Peterborough. The company is BAFE and ISO accredited and provides extensive engineering support to installation projects and back up maintenance support, to a wide scope of organisations and businesses across the UK.

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

 

  • An understanding of BS5839-1.
  • Provide robust estimates based on client design drawings.
  • You will have previous & successful experience(s) with quoting and winning projects.
  • Good time management skills
  • The ability to follow sequences, either set out by the employer / client, specifically when uploading estimates/drawings to various platforms.
  • Be able to communicate with clients and build good working relationships.
  • Be used to being target driven and have the ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • An excellent attitude and approach to learning and developing.

 

As this role is within a small team, you will also need high levels of personal motivation and resilience partnered with a personable and approachable personality that benefits the team. Team working is a key requirement of the position.

 

What we offer in return

 

  • Starting salary – £42,000 up to £48,000 (Dependent upon experience)
  • 31 days holiday, which includes 8 x Bank Holidays

  • Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08:00-17:30
