Service Engineer Position

 

At Britannia Fire and Security Ltd, we have an exciting opportunity for a fire and security service engineer who is looking for a fresh challenge. You will learn and develop new skills, complete industry related product training, and operate within an industry leading environment.

 

The successful service engineer will join our friendly team, working from our purpose built modern premises in Yaxley, Peterborough.

 

You will be providing service and small works support to our extensive client base across the UK. This role involves, interacting with varying stakeholders, working as an integral part of the service team, you will report to the service manager and be supported by a dedicated office team.

 

Ideally you will have proven experience within servicing in the fire and security industry or have electrical/engineering experience and be willing to train on our product range. You will be a self starter and be able to plan the working day and to report client requirements in a clear and concise manner using our dedicated mobile technology.

Britannia Fire and Security Ltd, is an independent and privately owned family company, established 25 years ago in Yaxley, Peterborough. The company is BAFE and ISO accredited and provides extensive support to new installation projects, and back up maintenance support to a wide scope of organisations and businesses across the UK and occasionally overseas.

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

 

  • Have excellent customer service skills, and be able to use your initiative to problem solve technical matters on Fire Alarms, CCTV, Intruder and Access control systems.
  • Be able to multi task whilst managing our customer expectations and possess a good knowledge & understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Display a positive and professional attitude within a customer focused environment.
  • Be able to influence and support customers and work under pressure with a strong work ethics, and display sound technical abilities.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to interact with people at all levels.
  • Be used to being target driven and have ability to multitask and work to strict deadlines
  • Have an excellent attitude and approach to learning and developing and desire to embrace new technologies.
  • You will need to complete a criminal record and DBS check prior to start.
  • Possess a full UK driving licence
  • As this role is within a small team, you will also need high levels of personal motivation and resilience partnered with a personable and approachable personality that supports us to deliver customer service excellence.
  • Team working is a key requirement of the position, as is the ability to work in a solo capacity.
  • You will be required to commit to an on call engineers rota.
  • Hours of work may vary according to client requirement – to be discussed at interview
