Britannia install site wide systems for a residential care home in Greater London
The Background
Britannia Fire & Security were requested to tender for this project early on at the initial design stage by T Clarke East Ltd, and were successful in securing all disciplines as listed above.
The fire alarm equipment comprises of automatic and manual detection throughout the site and was manufactured by Gent by Honeywell. Britannia Fire & Security is an approved Gent 24 System Integrator.
Scope of Works
As part of the scope of works Britannia were requested to implement a system to monitor the building’s site wide sprinkler system and building management system via the fire alarm monitoring. This enables the staff to have prior warning of any failures in these systems, ensuring the safety of the residents at all times.
Access Control System
The Access Control system was supplied by Reader Options Ltd and was fitted throughout the whole site to allow staff and tenants to gain access to controlled areas as required. Britannia developed the system utilising long range readers to allow disabled tenants easy access to their living quarters.
Internal and External CCTV
The IP CCTV system, supplied by EZ CCTV Ltd, was designed to give coverage throughout the whole development inside and outside. The system utilises fully functional pan-tilt zoom cameras externally, and fixed cameras internally. The images can then be stored on the hard drives of the Hikvision network video recorder and are readily available should the end user require to view the images at a later date.
Patient Call System
The Patient Call system was supplied by C-Tec Ltd. It is a site wide system that allows the residents and staff to summon assistance as and when required.
The critical areas that are covered by this system are the 72 bedrooms, bathrooms, common toilets and living and dining areas. The calls can be answered by the staff from each of the nurse stations and allow them to provide prompt assistance to the tenants.
These installations are currently under Britannia’s one year warranty and ongoing maintenance is supplied by our team of experienced engineers.
